MEDHOST Expands Professional Services Portfolio with Launch of New Managed IT Services

FRANKLIN, TN – MEDHOST, Inc., a provider of market-leading enterprise, departmental and healthcare engagement solutions, today announced it has grown its Professional Services portfolio by adding new Managed IT Services that include High-availability Disaster Recovery and Remote Monitoring and Management. As an extension of its Hosted, SaaS and Managed Services offerings, these new services address IT challenges facing hospitals.

MEDHOST’s two additional Managed IT Service offerings help hospitals manage increasingly complex data environments, as well as assist with the deployment and management of infrastructure needed to remain compliant with regulatory standards and other requirements, such as HIPAA.

“As IT systems progressively become more mission-critical from a reliability and performance perspective, internal IT departments are even further taxed and overwhelmed. This is forcing them to get pulled further away from supporting the immediate needs of clinicians who directly impact the delivery of care,” said Lionel Tehini, president of MEDHOST Professional Services, LLC. “The MEDHOST professional offerings are designed to help Customers overcome these and other challenges with affordable, high-value solutions. By removing some of hospitals’ biggest burdens, our Managed IT Services help healthcare facilities increase focus on their core objective – delivering healthcare and working to ensure the wellbeing of patients.”

MEDHOST High-availability Disaster Recovery Service allows hospitals to replicate the MEDHOST environment in a certified command center that includes 24-hour monitoring and management seven days a week. With this service, MEDHOST provides and maintains all hardware, operating system software and replication software, reducing costs for hospitals while eliminating replication and failover responsibilities for hospitals’ internal IT teams. In addition, the MEDHOST High-availability Disaster Recovery Service helps reduce the risk of system unavailability and HIPAA noncompliance.

Through the MEDHOST Remote Monitoring and Management Service, hospitals can improve service levels and offload day-to-day maintenance of their IT infrastructure in a cost-effective manner. This service is especially valuable to hospitals that lack access to the IT specialists, processes and tools needed to effectively monitor and manage their infrastructure onsite, including operating system levels, patches and fixes that help reduce security and outage risks.

“More than 80 percent of organizations use staff augmentation as an ad hoc way of filling gaps in applications services strategies. As software, services and infrastructure continue to converge, adoption of outcome-based managed services grows and evolves,” wrote Gartner Vice President and Distinguished Analyst Frances Karamouzis in the April 11, 2013 report, “Diligently Evaluate Outcome-Based Managed Services Versus Capacity-Driven Staff Augmentation.” The report goes on to state, “Managed services are represented by the shift of delivery models from ‘capacity on demand’ to ‘capability on demand.’ Capability on demand is the tight bundling of software, services and infrastructure to fit together and function seamlessly as a cohesive solution that is outcome-based.”

MEDHOST Managed IT Services are also available in conjunction with MEDHOST Direct, which enables hospitals to outsource system management and delivery to MEDHOST’s highly experienced IT team. With MEDHOST Direct, Customers can avoid upfront hardware capital expense and no longer need to manage hardware upgrade schedules, month-end/day-end operations and hardware obsolescence.

MEDHOST Professional Services includes a full portfolio of offerings that hospitals can customize according to their needs. This set of services is designed to help hospitals maximize enterprise efficiency, reduce costs and meet regulatory requirements such as Meaningful Use. In addition to Hosted and Managed Services, MEDHOST Professional Services are comprised of YourCareCommunity, Outsourced Services, YourCareLink, and Professional Consulting.
